This 2020 has undoubtedly been a different year, full of challenges, intense work and above all resilience, necessary to face the global health emergency that has affected our lives in its various dimensions.

Despite this complex scenario, exports of products from the Maule Region during the third quarter of this year showed a growth of 5% compared to the same period in 2019, with exports of agricultural products showing the greatest increase, at 16%. It should be noted that this behavior contrasts with domestic exports of non-copper goods that showed a decline of -7%, if we measure the third quarter 2019 and third quarter 2020.

In this context, ProChile – in compliance with its mission and objectives – has worked in a difficult scenario without interruption, quickly adapting its strategy to support the export sector and re-planning its program of activities by moving from presential activities to a digital format; we reinforced the work in eCommerce platforms such as Pinduoduo, JD and Tmall in China, in Amazon and www.wine.com in the United States, and with the wines from Maule under the trade name Descubre el Maule,(Discover Maule) we carried out several activations with influencers and sommeliers in the markets of Mexico, Colombia and Brazil. The above mentioned, with the aim of strengthening the connection between our regional exportable offer and the international demand, through the creation of commercial links between importers and exporters.

In order to continue promoting the commercialization of the region’s wines, this digital initiative arises, which we have called “Vinos del Maule al Mundo”,  “Wines from Maule to the World”, which constitutes one more of the diverse actions developed during this year to promote the exportable offer of the Maule Region with the support of the Regional Government, which through the National Fund for Regional Development (FNDR) has enabled financing this and other initiatives, whose objective is the  promotion of the region’s exportable products and services, such as agro-industry, forestry and wines to the main markets of the world; and, in the case of wine, to the markets of Asia, the United States, the Pacific Alliance and Brazil.

For our institution, it is a matter of pride to make available to international companies this digital catalog, which seeks to make visible the exportable offer of Maule for the wines of the region.  I sincerely thank all the companies participating in this initiative for their firm commitment to the export development of Chile and its region.

Maule is the wine region per excellence of our country. Here, nearly 50% of Chile’s wines are produced and exported to more than 100 countries.

In this catalog we present more than 40 Maule vineyards and an overview of the tourism potential that our region has.

Chile can become a reference for the Wine Tourism. Today people are seeking to learn about stories, traditions and tales. This is where the Maule region has a tremendous opportunity to attract their attention. Promoting the exportable offer also leads us to promote our enotourism offer, considering that in Maule we have valleys with a long history and wine heritage, as well as the highest concentration of planted vineyards.

This catalog invites us to learn about the exportable offer of the Maule vines and the beautiful places of our territory, which together make an unmissable scenario for those who want to know more about the Maule Region and, especially, about the wines that can be found in different markets of the world.

When we planned this 2020 year in mid 2019, we thought about visiting fairs, inviting importers, generating trade missions …and  in short, several activities that would be the great focus of our 2020.  However, the pandemic compelled us to rethink our strategy and focus our efforts on virtual and online activities that we were not used to, nor did we imagine their impact.

As we close this year, we look back and, despite the difficulties, the remote work and everything new that we had to get used to, we are happy with the work done.  Especially because of the support, drive and motivation of the regional team of the ProChile Maule Office, which regardless of being with almost 80% of its staff working remotely, we managed to meet all the goals and work on the replanning of our activities.

We are pleased to put at your disposal this tremendous tool for promoting our exportable wine offer, which may be available to importers around the world and to the vineyards of our region, in order to keep on doing business.
